Another day, another Kickstarter. This one comes from Martenero, a small company from New York that promises high style for a low price. Their latest piece, the Kerrison, is right on target.

The Kerrison is a standard three-hander with a date window at six o’clock. It comes on a beautiful leather strap that is made in the US and it runs a Miyota 9015. It comes in four styles including all white and all black and offers a little bit of understated design with bold san serif numerals and a nicely polished case.

While, again, I’m not a huge fan of the three-handers of the world I think this would make a nice entry-level watch for a professional on the go. It harkens back to the old standards of the 1950s and 60s, a rugged, solid watch for a rugged, solid workday.

The company has already raised $79,000, far over their $25,000 goal and one watch costs $459 – a good price for an automatic on such a beautiful band. While the design isn’t for everyone – it has a certain vintage Timex/Zodiac feel to it – if you’re looking for a piece you want wear with some nice shoes and a handsome shirt this is a great bet. They plan on shipping in May 2018.

So remember, friends: if you’re thinking crisp and clean think either 7-Up or Martenero. Both offer equally exciting refreshment.
