Thanks for stopping by on a (hopefully) lovely Sunday for our regular feature, Watch Video Rewind. This is where we take a little time to share watch related videos we are able to track down across the interwebs. This week, we have a discussion on the differences between a tourbillon and carrousel, a very old-school skeletonized pocket watch, and a pair of musical watches from Breguet.
From our friends over at WatchTime, we have a discussion about two rather esoteric, and high-end, complications – the tourbillon and the carrousel. As you may (or may not) know, these two complications look rather similar, but actually have some differences between them. Fortunately, Blancpain has two watches that allow for an exploration of the similarities and differences between the two.
Next up, from the crew over at the National Watch & Clock Museum, we have a Swiss skeletonized pocket watch from somewhere in the 1920s. For a watch that is almost 100 years old, it is pretty amazing to see (a) how open the movement is and (b) how well-designed the movement was around the idea of being skeletonized.
Finally, just because I find them fun to listen to, we’ve got two rather musical videos about Breguet watches that can make some pleasant sounds of their own.
