As you’re well aware, we’ve expanded our coverage here at WWR to include stuff you carry with you (aka EDC) as well as stuff you wear (boots, jackets, and the like). One of the items we covered were the Western Rise Evolution Pant. That was a campaign I backed, and I’ve been super happy with them. In fact, I’m wearing them as I write this article. Well, they’re back this time, but it’s something for your torso – the Western Rise Limitless Merino shirt.

At first, you might think that wool is an odd choice for a shirt, particularly as we see in the previous campaign that they focus on getting outdoors, and travel-ready wear. From my own experience, I can say that wool is a pretty able travel companion. These shirts are generally on the thinner side, so they’re still quite breathable, and keep you comfortable across a variety of temperatures. Even better for travel is the fact that wool is naturally odor-resistant. So, yeah, I get why they chose that material for the Western Rise Limitless Merino shirt.

Where the Western Rise Limitless Merino shirt switches things up from other wool shirts that I have is in the actual composition. Here, it’s a 53% wool / 47% polyester blend. This gives the material a good bit of stretch, which allows it to move with you. That blend also helps to soften the feel, as well as helping it to stay wrinkle free. In other words, a great shirt for travel, even if the travel is just for going down the trail.

It also makes for a solid option for the office, particularly as we get into these spring days where office temperature regulation is not always quite what you might like to have. And, since not everyone is going to want a long-sleeve shirt, they’ve also brought a polo into the mix, which is something I’ve not seen before with this wool blend. The campaign is wrapping up pretty soon, so you’ll want to get moving to get one of these shirts. Pricing starts at $89 for the polo (at $10 discount on retail) and $109 for the long-sleeve shirt (a $20 discount). The project – almost 12x funded – wraps up on May 15th, with delivery anticipated for January 2020. campaign page
