kisai_logo_wood_from_tokyoflash_japan_01TokyoFlash Japan is no stranger to our site, and if you have been reading us for a while, you should know that they produce a wide range of interesting digital watches, frequently with very unique ways to show the time.  For their newest release, the TokyoFlash Japan Kisai Logo Wood LCD Watch, they actually have a pretty straightforward display, unless you want to go cryptic, and they have an option for that as well.kisai_logo_wood_from_tokyoflash_japan_9The watch itself is very pretty, with a clean squared off 39 mm wooden case, in your choice of a dark sandalwood (banner image) , a red sandalwood (top), or the light maple (above).   The wood case wraps around a large digital display, which shows the minutes in the center of the display and represents the hours with the large block around the outside.  The banner image shows 10:48, the top 10:03, the maple watch above has 5:40, and the one below 9:59.  The little dots on the bezel help to remind you that 12:00, 3:00 and 9:00 don’t line up with the horizon or the meridian, but are the chunk just after it.

kisai_logo_wood_from_tokyoflash_japan_6The strap has a unique look as well, made of leather with a metallic coating, giving it a brushed look.  The LCD is always on, and there is an available blacklight for night time viewing.  If you want the watch to go into a sleep mode, there is an animation setting that will wake the watch every 15 minutes if you desire.  Now, if you want something a little less opaque in the way the watch shows the time, there is an option for you as well; after all, this is TokyoFlash Japan who made the watch.  Shown below is the hidden binary mode.  A little mental arithmetic and you get the time, a perfect accessory for the computer programmer in your life.kisai_logo_wood_from_tokyoflash_japan_10I have not had this hands-on, but I have been able to check out a couple of their other watches in person, and the quality of the product is nice.  These are relatively inexpensive and fun, so don’t expect them to be heirlooms, but they should stand up to the rigors of daily wear.  The watches are $109 for your choice of the three, and if you like the page of facebook, you get $4 off the price.  I don’t think I am the target demographic for this watch, but it is something I would wear from time to time if I had it in my collection.  tokyoflash.com
