I came across this new watch from Triwa that was the result of a collaboration with the Herr Judit shop in Stockholm.  Let’s take a closer look and see how those vintage cues play out, shall we?

Right up front, Triwa lays claim to inspiration coming from the 1940s, and I can feel that, especially in the acetate case and the color combination in use, as well as the use of a leather nato strap.  Sure, that particulary style (in leather especially) may not have been used then – but it does have that feel, doesn’t it?

Unlike many of Triwa’s other offerings, this watch features an automatic movement that’s made in  Tärnsjö, Sweden (as is the strap).  While the dial makes no indication of the movement, thankfully there is an exhibition caseback that allows you to see it.  How the longevity of a Swedish-made movement will be is anyone’s guess, though.

So, who is this piece for?  I think it would fit a lot of tastes these days, as “updated” vintage styling definitely seems to be popular.  I will admit that the acetate case likely isn’t for everyone.  Though, as a fan of “alternative” case materials, I’m glad to see something like this out in the market.

Should you find yourself in agreement, you’ll want to move quickly.  The watch is a limited edition of only 200 pieces, and is priced at a very affordable $375.  If that’s you, here’s the link to take you to your latest catch.
