You’re looking at the Omega Seamaster as depicted in the Xbox 360 port of the classic Nintendo 64 video game “GoldenEye 007.”

Wait, there was an Xbox 360 port?

Developed by Rare, “GoldenEye 007” was first released for the N64 in August 1997, quickly winning over players with its mission-based single player campaign and frenetic multiplayer mode. I spent a decent chunk of my tween years goofing off with my younger brother as we blanketed the Facility map with proximity mines. Good stuff.

What you may not know is that Rare in 2007 then went on to create an Xbox 360 version of the game, sporting higher-resolution textures, a default 16:9 widescreen mode, and reworked character models. If you’ve played the Xbox 360 version of “Perfect Dark,” either on an Xbox 360 back in the day or via the “Rare Replay” collection on the Xbox One (and via backwards compatibility on the Xbox Series S|X), then you have a good idea of the level of work that went into revamping the original N64 version.

Alas, this Xbox 360 version was cancelled before it was ever released, likely owing to copyright issues.

But, thanks to the power of the internet, the Xbox 360 version has found its way online

I was able to find it earlier today, and it runs very nearly perfectly via the Xenia Xbox 360 emulator on my gaming PC. Apparently it also runs on a modded Xbox 360 if you’ve got one of those handy.

The Seamaster that Pierce Brosnan wore in the 1995 film GoldenEye is the Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz 2541.80.00, according to Bond Lifestyle. Here you can see how the watch evolved from real life to the N64 version to the Xbox 360 version.

Neat!
