Watch Video Rewind

vcr-rewind

Hello and thanks for stopping by this week’s edition of Watch Video Rewind, where we find interesting watch related videos from across the world whttps://youtu.be/mI2L16CJVigide web.  In honor of the 4th of July tomorrow, I thought I would showcase some American brands.

Cameron Weiss, of the Weiss Watch Company in Los Angeles is a favorite of mine.  Not that I own one, but with his hand wound watches in the $1,000 range, it is certainly reachable.

Recently Patrick looked at Arcane Watches, and a while back I took a look at Vortic.  Both of these US based companies are repurposing  old American pocket watch movements into wrist watches.  I like the connection you get with a hand wound movement, and though the watches are large, they are wearable and very cool.

How about a watch from Detroit?  No, not Shinola, the other watch company in the Motor City, the Detroit Watch Co.  I have had a chance to check out a few of the watches, but this video from Watch Report is a nice supplement to the stand alone images.

Since we are talking about Detroit, I would be remiss if I did not add Shinola to the list. They have done a great job positioning their brand and marketing themselves as a premium brand.  I hope that they are able to really capitalize on the goal of being American Made.

Finally, what is the 4th without a fireworks show?  I am not sure from where in the world this was shot,  but the drone footage is very cool.

And with that, I’ll wrap up this week’s edition of Watch Video Rewind.  If you stumble across any interesting watch (or time) related videos out there, or if you make your own Watch Story, drop us a line. If we end up using in the watch video rewind from your suggestion, we’ll be sure to tip our hats (electronically, if not literally) in your general direction.
