Watch Video Rewind for June 7, 2015

Welcome back (or just welcome for your first timers) to Watch Video Rewind, or weekly Sunday feature where we point you toward various watch related videos available across the WWW.  June is here, and with the summer months comes longer days, nice weather, and months of outdoor activities.  I know I am getting into weekend warrior mode, and with the possibility of hiking and climbing, I thought I would poke around and look at GPS watches.

This first video is from Jeff Rizzo, who runs the RizKnows web site with reviews on all sorts of fitness gear.

If you want to get an overview of the GPS system that helps us figure out where we are, and how long and how far we went on that last adventure, check out the video above.

Wait, did they say the GPS satellites have atomic clocks in them?  Well, the last video is a short science class on how atomic clocks work.

That’s it for this week’s watch video rewind.  If you stumble across any interesting watch (or time) related videos out there, drop us a line. If we end up using it from your suggestion, we’ll be sure to tip our hats (electronically, if not literally) in your general direction.

Thank you for reading this WristWatchReview post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

WristWatchReview is one of the few remaining truly independent watch news outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent watch sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. We don't play the games the other sites play and we've paid for it when it comes to ad revenue.

We would love for you to support us on Patreon and every little bit helps. Thank you.
