Welcome back to our weekly installment, where we have a quick look at some interesting watches and articles that have popped up over the last week, as well as taking a second look at what some of our more popular articles this week were. Today, we’ve got summer watch recommendations, and an opinion piece on what the impact of a social “watch club” may be.  After those, we’ll highlight (as usual) some of our more popular posts from the last week. Read on to see what we’ve got in store for you.

First up, the crew over at Worn & Wound have a great roundup of a variety of watches they feel are good fits for the warmer summer weather than’s on the way for the northern hemisphere.  They’ve got quite a variety of watches in the post, including quite a few we’ve feature on our pages (and one we’ll have coming up in a few days, actually).  If you’re looking to pick up something a bit smaller for the summer, this is a good survey.

These days, informal (or formal) watch gatherings seem to be rather common, helped along of course by the prevalent of social media.  Search out a particular hashtag or your city, and you can probably drum up something nearby.  The great-granddaddy of them all would appear to be the Red Bar Crew, based in New York.  The article over at Wound For Life gives an intro to the scene, and gives some insight on why you might try to search your local one out yourself.

Now, let’s head back to our own pages.  With Father’s Day being tomorrow, we weren’t too surprised to see that our Father’s Day Gift Guide was a popular article.  While you’re running way late at this point if you’re trying to find a watch online for Dad, it’s still a good roundup to checkout if you’re heading out to the local stores – or just want to print out an order receipt (and picture) to tuck into the card.

As to one of the other popular articles of the past week, well, I guess people are just looking to buy watches. Though the sale has since wrapped up, the Touch of Modern sale on Squale watches proved to be of interest to a great many of you.  For something that’s (barely) still on sale, check out our writeup on the Egard sale.

Last, but certainly not least, don’t forget that it’s a new month, so we’ve got a brand new contest ready for you.  Head on over here and get your entries in.

With that, we’ll wrap things up. As always, if there’s something you think we should be covering, feel free to drop us a line. If you bring something up that we end up writing about, we’ll be sure to tip our hats (electronically, if not literally) in your general direction.
