It seems an enterprising watch lover has created a watch rental service that allows you to wear famous brand names on on for pennies to the dollar. I’ll have to give it a go, but the concept seems sound. Who wouldn’t want to wander around wearing a Zenith or IWC for about $200.

  1. Hmmm Pennies on the dollar. That calculation is off. This is either an illegal or legal scam. They are overcharging to wear a watch for a day.

  2. Um, this is just like renting a car. Of course it is cheaper in the long run to buy a car or watch outright than to rent it indefinitely. But renting allows you to really give it a try before you buy. There’s a big difference to holding a watch on my wrist in a store vs. fully adjusting the band and wearing it for real for several days. I also like the idea of renting a high-end time piece for a special occassion, which is similar to renting a limo for the same reason.

  3. Hey guys,

you might want to check out http://www.blingyourself.com. They actually have rolex watches and diamond dial omega watches for men and women. I rented a rolex for my Las Vegas trip to go along with the atmosphere there. I was not disappointed. Of course when you rent a $5000 watch the rental fee with $100 was not small but absolutely worth it for the week and a great time. In the end it’s 2% of retail and I think that’s a deal! I also rented the diamond studded cross by the way…

Let me know what you think
