If so, point your gaze over to Schuhren.  As with many German designs, they feature extremely clean lines and simple elegance.  Today, I would direct your gaze more specifically to the Gentleman model.

Schurhen is a relatively new company (established in 2008) as a family business in the town of Stukenbrock.  Though new on the scene, they are committed to producing a quality product.  To wit, they’ve done things like see if they can wind the watch under water without ill effect, and submitting a watch to the harsh environment of the Kuwaiti Desert.

The Gentleman is a classically handsome style, and I feel that it would work just fine in the office, or for a night out in a suit.  It’s polished case is made of 316 stainless steel with a screwed-on caseback.  The back features an observation window, allowing you to see the decorated and rose gold plated skeleton movement (manual wind).

Up front, you have a sapphire crystal (with AR coating, of course) covering the clean white dial.  The Roman numerals (in black) are a stark contrast, and make things immediately readable.  Those numerals also seem to lend to the upscale feel of the watch, as do the blued hands.

Finally, the calf leather strap completes the package and holds the watch in place, making for an understated package.  Perhaps a black strap may help it blend in better for more formal occasions, but I suppose that’s up to the wearer.  And really, that’s where the fun begins.

While Schurhen lists a robust collection, those are only a starting point for the watch you’ll end up with.  What you’re going to end up doing is starting with your favorite model, and then work with them to customize the watch to your liking.  That, of course, makes pricing a bit variable – but you’ll end up with exactly what you want.
