Welcome to Watch Video Rewind for this first weekend of August, 2016. We use this page to highlight watch related videos we think are interesting from around the web. Today, I am going a wee bit off topic, and instead of watches, I am going to highlight some clocks. I saw a post on Slate about a new clock installed in Lounge 2 at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, and I wanted to know more about the artists and his works.

Welcome back to Watching the Web, our regular Saturday feature where we explore a couple of interesting watch posts from across the web, plus highlight our most popular posts. This week, I have new (ish) watches from Cobra de Calibre, Panerai, andHamilton. From our site, you guys found the Steinhart Ocean 1 Bronze, the Oak & Oskar Sanford and the Jubileon Superellipse as the most interesting posts of the week.

Imagine the classic shot of an old world map, with a DC-3 propeller plane and a dashed line trailing behind it showing the journey. If I were making a promotion video of this watch, I would totally use that shot with the line going from Singapore to Switzerland, with a fade to the Jubileon Superellipse watch on the wrist of a gentleman holding a glass of scotch while traveling first-class.

Ah, the sophmore effort. Many a-time, a brand (be it music, watch, or anything else) has a much easier time with their first creation, as people are not quite sure what to expect. By the time their second outing rolls around, a line has been drawn in the sand, and it can be just as easy to fail as it is to succeed. Fortunately, it looks like my fellow Chicagoan Chase Fancher has followed the latter path, as his second creation, the Oak & Oscar Sandford, looks pretty solid.

It was three years ago that I went hands-on with the original Smith & Bradley Sans-13. Since then, I have reviewed every other watch that the brand has put out, which you can see here and here. While we are still working to get one of their latest in – the Smith & Bradley Sans-13 Evolution – I wanted to get a preview in place for you, as their Kickstarter project just recently launched. So, let’s have ourselves a look, shall we?

It’s a new month, so of course that means it is time for us to cycle in yet another watch for you to have a chance to win. This time around, it’s a watch we reviewed a few years back, but that certainly does not diminish the beauty of the mother-of-pearl dial. Read on for how to enter in the giveaway for a Klaus Kobec Taj Mahal.
