While spending some time on Instagram, a watch popped up on my feed that really caught my eye: the EPOS Sportive Diver. To be honest I really didn’t know anything about EPOS. It looked very cool, and it was Swiss-made, so I had to check it out. Fortunately, EPOS was able to send me out a loaner and here we are now.

The Dial

The dial on this EPOS diver is fantastic. It features a blue sun ray face is paired with a blue ceramic bezel. To keep things from going too blue, they painted the minute and second hands yellow. They also added some yellow accents with the text and around the crown.

The Case

This EPOS Diver is made to work. Water-resistance is good to 1694 feet (500m) and the case comes with a helium escape valve, for the small portion of actual saturation divers. Even if you are not a commercial diver, you will appreciate the fact that you can take it on any dive you want without worry. The case size is 43mm in diameter, 14.5 mm thick, and made from stainless steel. Sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial. It features a mix of brushed and polished finishes.

The Bracelet

You can get this EPOS diver with a rubber strap or stainless steel bracelet. This one came with the stainless steel and I really like what they did with this. Most of the bracelet is done in a brushed finish except for some polishing along the edges of the links. It’s a real diver but still has some dressy touches.

The Lume

There is a lot of lume applied to all the hands and hour markers. The glow is a nice blue/green and lasts for a long time. It doesn’t take much light to get this one glowing.

There are so many dive watch variants out there, and sometimes there are just too many. To me, this one stood out. This EPOS Sportive Diver retails for $1350 USD. If this was in my budget I would seriously think about getting this one. If you like what you see, go check it out at epos.ch.
