When Nomadic releases a new watch, you can be sure that we’re going to be paying attention. Something about their designs just clicks well with me, even the vaguely digital font they use for their logo. We’ve seen the Nomadic Turas 914 before, but they’ve gone and decided to make some changes, turning it into the Nomadic Turas 914 2025 EDTN.
Nomadic Turas 914 2025 EDTN: what it is
For starters, it’s still the field/explorer watch that it started out as. With that Nomadic twist, of course! Not only do you have polished surfaces, some of them have actually been enlarged. Inside, you still have the Sellita SW200-1 keeping you on time, complete with a counterbalance with the Shackleton expedition represented. In short, it’s the watch we saw previously, with some very tidy updates.
So, what are the updates?
Alright, now let’s get to the fun stuff that they changed up a bit in the design:
- Longer Hand Set: The redesigned hands merge aesthetics with legibility, extending perfectly to the minute track for accurate timing.
- Increased Bezel Thickness: Balancing the proportions of the larger hands whilst increasing durability of the watch for tough expeditions.
- Improved X1-grade SuperLuminova®: Every index is meticulously filled with the brightest luminous material yet, offering superior legibility even in extreme conditions.
- Sapphire Caseback Reveals a Distinctive New Rotor: Inspired by the ‘Men of Endurance’ on the 1914 Transantarctic Expedition. The rotor depicts Shackleton, Crean and the crew pulling the infamous James Caird lifeboat across the ice as the Endurance sinks behind.
- New Bracelet with Quick-Release Spring Bars: The introduction of quick-release spring bars allows for easy strap changes, offering versatility and convenience to match any style or occasion.
- Microglide Adjustment Clasp: This innovative clasp offers micro-adjustments, allowing for a perfect fit and unparalleled comfort throughout the day.
So, not earth-shattering differences that make your existing Turas 914 feel outdated. However, if you’ve been waiting to get one, these improvements – to an already solid design – should be well-appreciated. Oh, and for all that they’ve improved? The price has remained unchanged – see below.
