When it comes time to head to the lake or the beach, our kids always want to have some big inflatables. Hey, even us adults might like some sort of a lounger as well. Sure, you can blow those up using your mouth, but it takes a long time. You could also opt for something like this (I just got it, and it’s great), but that might be bulky to have with you all the time. If that’s the case for you, then the GIGA PUMP Air might be what you want.
GIGA PUMP Air: what it is
Think of it as the most slimmed-down air pump you can think of. Previously, I’ve reviewed the GIGA PUMP 2.0, and that thing has been great for getting those floaties inflated. But what if you removed the LED light, as well as the on-board battery? Well, then you get the GIGA PUMP Air. Super light (just 1 oz), super compact (so you can always have it with you). But what about powering it?
In this day and age, many of us are carrying at least one external battery pack, especially, when you’re going camping for or a long day at the lake. This pump takes advantage of that, and just plugs into it using good ol’ USB-C. And you don’t have to worry about it draining that pack and leaving your phone dead. It consumes just 40 mAh per minute of inflation – so it’s not going to sip much from your battery pack.
Why we like it
As I mentioned, I have reviewed (and still use) the GIGA PUMP 2.0. It’s a great, compact little inflator. Until you run the battery out, of course. With the GIGA PUMP Air, that is not a concern. And with how small this is, it would be a cinch to just always have this in your glove box, day pack, or beach bag, and then you’ll never be without it.
