Hemel’s new aviator chronograph: Hemel, makers of my favorite low-cost mechanical chrono, has announced a new model, the Air Defense, in black and cream. The watch uses a lovely ST19 hand-wind chronograph movement with an exhibition back and features a set of registers including a running seconds and elapsed minutes. The best thing? These things only cost $499, an amazing deal.

Hemel’s new aviator chronograph: Where to find

The Air Defense comes with a black face or a faded cream face and features bold hands and markers. The numbers, pips, and bezel is lumed and the whole thing looks great. Again, this is one of my favorite manufacturers working today so I’m excited that they’ve decided to take this step into a more military-style dial and design. You can pick the watches up on Hemel’s website.
