Mondaine is releasing two new designs, the 31mm and 41mm Cushion watches, inspired “by a vintage design with a timeless cushion shape” that looks far different than the standard Mondaine Swiss Railways watch.

The watch comes in two models, the Petit Cushion and the Grand Cushion. The Grand comes in a chronograph. Both run quartz movements.

The watches hearken back to the traditional Mondaine Swiss Railways styling. The chronos are surprisingly bold and have a certain Nautilus flair to them.

The coolest thing? The watches come on grape leather straps. Seriously.

From the release:

Our vegan grape leather is made with the organic waste of wine production: everything which cannot be used at the end of the wine-making process – namely the grape marc consisting of the stems, seeds, and skins – is used to make grape leather – genuine upcycling.

This Collection is available now. The Grand Cushion costs $595.00 and the Petit Cushion is $375-395.

New case design. Grape leather. And a great price to match. Interesting moves by Mondaine, to say the least.
