Watch, that is! To be sure, many of use have likely have thoughts bouncing around of sourcing our own movement, case (or machining our own), so on and so forth. But what about a quartz-driven digital model?
If that even sounds remotely interesting, you should read on. And if it’s not interesting, c’mon – it’s a watch, and you can say you built the thing yourself. The kit is from Make, and you can purchase it right here. While the aesthetic isn’t exactly to my own tastes, there’s a lot that I like here:
- You get all the necessary parts to build the watch
- If you can handle a screw driver and a solder iron, you can build this
- It could be a great way to get someone (a child, perhaps) interested in watches and electronics at the same time
- The kit is crazy affordable
