Famously, Kermit told us that it’s not easy being green. Well, that’s certainly one approach to take, but our pals over at H. Moser & Cie have gone another direction, and done something quite stunning with jade for their latest H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon.

Now, to be sure, this H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon is very much the same as what we have seen before, so the technicals here, well, we’re familiar with them, and the overall design is just as well-sorted as prior iterations. Here, you’ve got the 5N rose gold setting a foundation for a very lovely slice of Wyoming jade to take center stage.

And we do truly mean slice. When you look around your home, if you’ve got anything made of natural stone (say, a set of coasters), we’re used to those being quite thick. Well, that’s not going to work for a watch dial, now is it? The minds at Moser got to work on it, and with their CNC machining prowess, they figured out how to get dial blanks that are just 1 – 1.2mm thick, which is tricky in an material, let alone a fragile and natural stone.

While there’s an organic warmth to the dial because of that jade, it also manages to give a clean sterile look to the dial of the H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon, and it just looks neat. And on top of that, they’ve still kept the Globolight on the handset so the watch remains a stunner, day or night. If you want to get one of the 100 concept pieces they’re making, it’s going for $119,000. h-moser.com
