I have always been partial to Swiss made watches. Of course there are so many non-Swiss watches that are great, but I just favor Swiss for my own reasons. So while browsing around for new Swiss brands, I found one with about the most direct name there is. This brand is the Swiss Watch Company. Right now they have one model, which is their Diver model. There are quite a few color options for this model so I chose the orange. I have spent some time with it, and so far so good.
This SWC Diver is a three hander with a date window at the three o’clock position. The ceramic bezel and black face are separated by a bright orange chapter ring. That orange chapter ring really make this watch stand out on the wrist. Large hour and minutes hands make visibility excellent, which is what you need in a good dive watch. This watch is powered by a Swiss made Sellita SW200 automatic movement. Can’t go wrong with that. Protecting all of this is a sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating.
Made from 316L stainless steel and measuring in at 44mm in diameter this is not a small watch. I had no problem wearing this on my 6.5 inch wrist all day long. The case has a screw down crown and screw down case back. Water resistance is a very good 1000ft. With resistance like that you can really use this as a diver.
The bracelet on this SWC diver looks fantastic on this watch. There is a three dimensional look to this due to the raised middle section of each link. They use a mix of brushed and polished finishes which I really like. This has a small locking clasp which add a clean smooth look to the bracelet. Only thing is that there is no divers extension. Guess if you need to do some serious diving you could easily put on a divers strap. Not a real big deal.
They really go serious with the lume here. The large hour makers are painted with 20 layers of Swiss-made Super-luminova. The glow is very bright and provides excellent low light visibility.
SWC did a good job in creating a well made and useful Swiss made diver. Finishing is great and the build quality is right on. What is really nice about this watch is the price. You can get this Swiss made diver for only $450 USD. That’s excellent price for 1000ft water resistance, ceramic bezel, a Swiss movement, and that it’s Swiss made.
