You know us – we like a good GMT design, and we’re also fans of the things that Timex has been creating. Their latest introduction is a brand-new collaboration. Let’s take a look at what the James Brand X Timex Titanium GMT has in store for you.

The movement

These days, any discussion of a GMT watch starts with the movement. In this case, the James Brand X Timex Titanium GMT is relying on a Miyota 9075 (miyotamovement / calibercorner). For those who do find themselves changing timezones, you’ll be pleased to know that this is a traveller GMT, which means it’s the main hour hand that you can set independently, without disturbing the minutes or GMT hand. It does mean that you lose the quick-set date, so if this winds down, you’ll have a bit of manipulation to get things set quickly.

The materials

If you couldn’t tell from the model name, the watch relies on (wait for it) titanium. The 41mm case is made of titanium as is the included bracelet. Even the additional resin strap it ships with has a titanium buckle on it. Titanium is great because it’s tough and light, and it also brings a really nice hue to the overall look.

The colors

With that matte grey of the titanium, you could go a few different ways. For this watch, you have a black dial and a grey/black bezel insert, with white used for the indices, numerals, and handsets. And then, to make sure things stand out, you get that pop of bright green on the GMT hand, as well as the 24-hour mark on the uni-directional bezel and the crown.

Wrapping things up

The James Brand X Timex Titanium GMT just launched today, and our guess is – like prior TJB collabs – that it’s going to move quickly. And that’s even with the $749 price tag. If you’re wanting to get one of these, you’ll be able to find them at TheJamesBrand, Huckberry, and of course, over at Timex.
