The Megalodon was a prehistoric shark, the biggest and (presumably) baddest shark to live on Earth. Not too long ago, I saw an article which asked if any of these cold still be alive in the deep ocean (no), but one is definitely back. The Benarus Megalodon dive watch is now available for pre-order, and it is still the beast it has always been.
Project Watches is a company that is constantly looking for new ways to use elements of design and art in the way a watch tells time. There are times I think they are a little obtuse, and there are times that the designs work, and there times where the inspiration is a little obtuse, but the design still works. This is the case with the Projects Watches Suprematism. I will get into the basis for the design in a moment, but for me, the design works.
Happy Father’s Day, and thanks for popping over and checking out the week’s Watch Video Rewind, our weekly feature where we bring to light watch related videos from the web that we think are interesting. Today, I have a bit of a hodgepodge of videos that I stumbled across this week.
Welcome to Watching the Web, our weekly look around the internet for interesting watch related articles and news, and our chance to highlight our most popular recent posts. This week, there is the Antoine Preziuso Tourbillon of Tourbillons, MAT Watches, and the Porsche Design Chronometer Series 1. Well, then, the Tissot Quickster Lugano may be just what the doctor ordered.
Anyone who thinks that watches for adults have to be boring has never browsed the Mr Jones Watches web site. We cover them here from time to time because they are design driven watch company that puts out products you are not going to find on your cubicle neighbor’s wrist (probably). The Mr Jones Watches Sun and Moon Miyamoto pays homage to the man behind the Nintendo Super Mario games, as well as the games themselves.
When it comes to the watches that Ball Watch has on offer, it is like a double-edged sword, at least to me. What first drew me in to the brand was the Engineer line, with its bold styling and use of multi-colored tritium tubes. As I have spent time with the brand’s wares (and refined my own tastes), I have come to realize that I prefer things a bit more subdued (such as with the Ball Watch Engineer II Marvelight or Trainmaster Kelvin. That all said, I think another great – and entry-level – option from the brand would be the Ball Watch Night Train DLC.
The following is an excerpt from my new book, Marie Antoinette’s Watch: Adultery, Larceny & Perpetual Motion,…
Melbourne Watch Co is one of a handful of new watch companies that have embraced and excelled in the crowd-funding market, offering multiple time pieces and, more importantly, delivering a quality product to their backers. We have looked at all of their watches over the last few years, including a hands-on review of the Flinders. Their latest watch is the Melbourne Watch Works Carlton, a chronograph that utilizes a mecha-quartz movement.
Today, we have some great summertime strap options for you from Suigeneric and Crown & Buckle.
