By now, you should be familiar with the initiatives that Triwa are undertaking. What you may not be aware of is that Triwa stands for Transforming the Industry of Watches. They’ve done a number of things via their “Time For” lines, and now they’re taking another interesting step with the steel they’re using. Meet the Triwa x SSAB “Fossil Free”, aka Time for Decarbonization.

To create the Triwa x SSAB “Fossil Free”, Triwa worked with SSAB to utilize their fossil-fuel free steel powder. At the end of the day, the steel of the case itself should act just like any other steel in terms of strength and longevity – it was just made in a different way.

The overall look of the Triwa x SSAB “Fossil Free” is classic and clean, with what looks to be an easy to read at-a-glance sort of a layout. Another interesting thing they’re doing here is offering the watch with either a quartz or an automatic (Miyota 9015) movement. If you’re interested in one of these, you’ll have to go sign up to be notified once the watch is released. Triwa.com signup page
