Zodiac are no strangers to throwing bright colors at us across their well-recieved Super Sea Wolf line. Just in time for hot weather, they’re bringing out a duo that puts me in mind of an icy gin-and-tonic – the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Neon.

For this, we’ve actually got two watches in play. First up is the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Compression, and should be very similar to the one that we reviewed here. Here, though, we’ve got a bright, neon lime green showing up on the chapter ring, indices, and minute hand, while you’ve got crisp white offsetting it on the dial and bezel insert. It’s bright, it’s crisp, and I think it’s a great look for summer. Then again, with a 44mm case diameter, the $1,395 is not going to be a good fit for all wrists.

If you’re looking for something a touch more compact, and perhaps a GMT (who, me?) complication, then the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 GMT is where you need to go. Now, this model we’ve never actually be able to go hands-on with, though we wrote about the sherbet version last year. In that one, I was concerned about the cream dial against the bright white on the bezel, and that seems to be have addressed here. Here, it’s all lime green and crisp white. I’d say it’s got less green than the three-hander, but it packs a punch, showing up on half of the bezel and on the GMT hand. Given that they’ve had to go to a Soprod movement, the slight bump in price to $1,795 is not a surprise. It comes on a less-exciting three-link bracelet, but hopefully they’ll see fit to offer it with the jubilee-style as well.

So, if you were looking for a bright watch to match your summertime drink of choice (which, a gin-and-tonic certainly fits the bill), the new Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 versions should fit the bill. If prior releases are any indicator, these will likely move quickly, so you will want to as well. zodiacwatches.com

Thank you for reading this WristWatchReview post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

WristWatchReview is one of the few remaining truly independent watch news outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent watch sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. We don't play the games the other sites play and we've paid for it when it comes to ad revenue.

We would love for you to support us on Patreon and every little bit helps. Thank you.
