While some may choose to sleep on the Timex models from the last few years, there have been some rather sharp-looking pieces. One of the ones that really caught our eye was the vintage-look Timex Marlin, and two new versions were recently released.

The big thing with these Timex Marlin models is, of course, the dial colors. Here, it’s a lovely blue (on a brown leather strap) and a vivid green, paired to a black leather strap (we’d venture the brown strap would work just as well, if not better). Colors aside, what I rather like is how the main indices are done. Here, you’ve got small badges at the compass points, that put me in mind of a graphic design approach to sign numbering, or perhaps an old-school “digital” flip clock.

Whichever one you go for, you’ve got a 40mm case that houses an automatic movement, and is topped by a domed acrylic crystal, completing the vintage look. You can check them out, and of course get your own, directly over at timex.com.
