Well, we just started this new “For Your Consideration” series last week (at least, officially), and here we are again with another aspirational sort of watch. While our previous one was definitely in the stratosphere, today’s watch is one that could be in reach one day, and actually be useful in a daily wear sort of capacity. That watch is the new (and very blue) Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph.

Now, if you’ve been reading me for awhile now, I’ve not got a very high tolerance for chronographs. So, why talk about the Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph? Well, for one, I like that vintage itch that gets scratched whenever I see a Blancpain (thanks, Fifty Fathoms!), and of course I’m a sucker for a good blue watch.

Another part that sold me on the Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph is the view through the exhibition caseback. Here, you can see that the F388B movement fits perfectly into the case (just look how large the window is) and I dig how the skeletonized rotor is stretched out to the edges of the caseback.

The Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph isn’t some fragile beauty, either. While it only has a 30m WR rating (ok for splashes, but please don’t submerge) the body of the watch is made of titanium (or rose gold if you’re feeling extra fancy), and you’ve got a ceramic insert set into the bezel (made of a material that matches the case – titanium or gold).

That all said – if you find yourself wanting to be able to time things (be it your eggs, parking meter, or laps around the park) while looking like a proper gentleman, you could certainly do way worse than this here chronograph. While I might opt for Bathyscape in blue, there’s a lot looking good here for the well-heeled chrono fan. The Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph can be yours in titanium (our favorite) for $19,100 or in a splashier red gold for $30,700. blancpain.com
