Swatch X Blancpain teased the Ocean of Storms a few days ago with advertisements online and in print teasing something new from the collab. The companies just announced the big news – the Ocean of Storms is here and it’s pretty darn nice.

The watch itself is a dead ringer for the original Blancpain 50 Fathoms and features a black bioceramic case and elegantly understated dial. Nylon strap seems to be attached differently than the original Swatch X Blancpain pieces so you can see the exhibition back more clearly than in the original watches.

Swatch Group writes:

Known by the Latin name Oceanus Procellarum, this is actually a lunar mare located on the western edge of the near side of the moon. Meaning Ocean of Storms, it is the biggest mare or “sea” on the moon, spanning more than 2,500 kilometers from north to south and covering around 2 million square kilometers.

A non-limited model, OCEAN OF STORMS comes in a black color inspired by the new moon – also known as the Black Moon – and will be available worldwide from January 11, the day of the new moon at selected Swatch stores.

The pieces cost $400 and will be available tomorrow. Watch out, however. These things are already appearing online for $1,100 or so it looks like scammers are already messing with the Hypebeasts. That said, it looks like I’m picking up another Swatch soon.
