As a brand, Fossil offers all sorts of items. They’ve got accessories, they’ve got watches (of course), and then they also have jewelry. What if you combined those last two categories? You could get a watch on a pendant, say, or what we’ve got on review today – the Fossil Watch Ring.

What is the Fossil Watch Ring?

You can think of the Fossil Watch Ring as, well, a watch that’s gotten hit with a shrink ray. It’s got a 15mm case, paired onto a 7mm expansion strap. In other words, just like a regular watch, but done up smaller. Necessarily, given the size, this is just a two-hander watch. Then again, you wouldn’t want to be having to watch for running seconds or a date display on a dial this small.

Who’s the Fossil Watch Ring for?

Admittedly, I’m not necessarily the target audience for this design. My kids, though? They loved it. Watches for kids can be a tough proposition, as they can come across as too kid-like, or with proportions that don’t fit their smaller wrists. With the Fossil Watch Ring, it fit right onto the finger, and then they were off about their day, with a shiny bit of jewelry as well as a watch.

I think it would work just as well for an adult who wants to have some sort of timekeeper with them, but doesn’t want to (or can’t) wear a watch on their wrist. You could argue it would also be another way to track a second time zone if you really needed to, or just stack it up with some other rings. I mean, if I’ve got timekeeping cufflinks (reviewed here), then you know I’m fine with a watch showing up in smaller and different packaging. So, if you’re reading this and thinking “hmm, that’s actually kind of neat” then we say go for it.

Where can I get it?

Well, that’s easy – you can get your own Fossil Watch Ring for $130 directly from Fossil. They’ve got it in silver with a silver dial (as we’ve reviewed), or in yellow or rose gold tones (with matching dials) for the same pricing. If you’re looking for an unobtrusive way to add a watch to your party wear, this could certainly do the trick. fossil.com
