As you are no doubt aware, Oris is big into supporting causes that help make the world a better place, and they’re also big into aviation watches. So, then, this latest pair of watches seems like a perfect match for them. Meet the Oris Wings of Hope Limited Editions.

Wings of Hope is an humanitarian NGO that looks to bring medical support to remote and underserved communities through aviation. Just last year, they were able to help 65,000 people through their programs. For something that relies heavily on donations and volunteer work, that’s quite the impact. They’ve even got their operations structured so well that $0.86 of every dollar donated makes it to their programs.

To help raise awareness for the Wings of Hope, as well as raise funds, Oris is releasing two different editions, both based on their Big Crown Pilot watch. The one that is available this month is a 38mm version in 18k yellow gold (and only 100 of those are being made). If the $17,000 price tag for that one is a bit steep for you, then you might want to hold out for the steel version. That one will be a bit larger at 40mm, but is otherwise the same (including the same movement and Cero Volante deer leather strap). For that one, 1000 pieces will be made, and when it’s available in October, they’ll go for $3,700. Whatever the material, they’re handsome watches, and they’re going to help support a great cause. oris.ch
