The collab
If you’re thinking that Amhed Seddiqi & Sons sounds familiar, you’re right. They just had another special release with another brand that customizes a base model quite a bit. So, why this particular partnership? It’s a way for Kross Studio to recognize the partnership, which has undoubtedly helped put a number of Kross Studio creations into private collections.
Kross Studio KS 05 Titanium Moss Agate: the dial
When we see a Kross Studio tourbillon, the broad strokes, we’re familiar with. The KS 7’005 movement has its floating tourbillon, and the watch is designed around it. While my favorite to-date has been their Batman version (not to mention watch rolls or an AMAZING Batmobile), this version definitely takes things in a more elegant direction.
At first glance, it seems that the center portion of the dial is just your standard sort of see-through panel done to allow you to see the inner workings. This, you see, is where the Moss Agate shows up. They’re able to thinly slice it, exposing those mossy vines (which are mineral deposits) that will make each dial unique.
Wrapping things up
As we mentioned at the start, the Kross Studio KS 05 Titanium Moss Agate is available only in Dubai, via Amhed Seddiqi & Sons. While that caseback up above says “Unique Piece”, they are planning to make ten of these watches. We suppose the different slices of agate make things unique.
