NN.07 X Timex

The last time NN.07 and Timex partnered up, it was back in 2021, and they were working off of the Timex M79. This time around, they’re taking things in a robust field watch direction, collaborating on a 36mm version of the Expedition North Field (we reviewed a mechanical version), that they’re giving the tag line of “The Original Tick Tock”. Meet the NN.07 X Timex Expedition North Field Post.

NN.07 X Timex: a brightened-up Field Watch

If you’re looking for a solid everyday watch that doesn’t have a lot of flash (literally, without polished surfaces) and will quietly do its job, tracking the time for when you need to know it? Well, it’s hard to argue against a classic field watch. These keep things simple, giving you the time and sometimes date in a robust case. When you add in a quartz movement, then it truly becomes a watch you don’t even have to think about all that much.

For the NN.07 X Timex Expedition North Field Post, it started, obviously, as the Timex model, which normally comes in 36mm or 41mm and a solar-powered movement (you can see that collection here). While we’re sad to see the solar power go away, we do like the brightening up that it allows. The brushed steel dial blank catches the light, and the bright green fill on the hands and indices are a welcome pop of color.

What about that blue at 7?

That’s one thing that jumps out on the NN.07 X Timex Expedition North Field Post. The answer is hiding in the name of the brand. NN.07 was started in 2007, so the number seven holds a special spot for them. So, you get the hour indice and chapter ring mark done in that blue, which then also carries over to the seconds hand. A smaller detail, and one that will make the watch stand out.
