As of late, Baltic Watches really has been on a tear. The last time we wrote about them, it was about their Prismic model, and just before that, it was a trio of golden updates. Well, now their back with another new release, one that’s ready for outdoors adventures. Time to get familiar with the Baltic Watches Hermétique Glacier.

What it is

The Baltic Watches Hermétique Glacier is an update to their existing Hermétique line. This is a relatively compact (37mm) that looks even smaller as the crown is inset into the case. This is not just a neat visual trick. By tucking it in, the crown is protected from damage, while also keeping things water tight. With primarily flat finishes – bar the polished bezel – and a clean dial, we can feel the field watch vibes.

How the Baltic Watches Hermétique Glacier is different

The major differences from other models in the line are all in the dial. First and foremost, you’ve got that craggy, almost hammered finish. This is stamped, and puts us in mind of an field or pond that’s been through a long, hard winter with thaw and freeze cycles.

Over the top of that, you’ve got something we’ve only seen from one other brand (and a high-end luxury one at that), aside from the prior Hermétique versions. By that, we mean the solid numerals and indices that are completely luminous. This will ensure legibility, as well as bringing even more dimensionality to the look.

Wrapping things up

On a tropic strap (with an additional canvas strap), it will be 600€, while opting for one of the metal bracelets takes it to 665€ ($655 – $726). Only 200 of each color dial are being made, so you’ll want to act sooner rather than later. You can check it out over at baltic-watches.com
