Here at WWR, we’ve taken a look at a number of Yema designs, and have gotten comfortable with their design language. Many of them are recognizable as Yema (particularly their bezel lock method). Many designs have been iterations, but as of late, they’ve been putting a lot more focus into the movement within the case. The latest to do that, which just went live on Kickstarter, is the Yema Superman Bronze CMM.10 Limited Edition.

Yema Superman Bronze CMM.10 Limited Edition – Movement

First off, you might be wondering, what makes the Yema Superman Bronze CMM.10 Limited Edition different than the Superman Bronze prototype we reviewed in 2020? Sure, we’ve got different dial colors and a full bronze outlay (and not just the bezel), but that’s that’s the window dressing. The big change here is with the movement.

Yema Superman Bronze CMM.10 Limited Edition – Power

Back in 2020, they were introducing the YEMA2000 calibre. This time around, it’s a new three-hander movement, the CMM.10. What’s to like here? How about a 70-hour power reserve, -3/+5 seconds accuracy, and one heck of a clean look through the exhibition caseback. Rather than focus on finishing techniques, they’ve focused on the lines that are presented by the plates and bridges themselves, which is an approach I applaud.

All of that R&D does not come cheap. You’ll be able to get a limited number of these new movements in either a 39 or 41mm case. In terms of pricing, earlybird pricing starts at €999 (approx. $1,068) which represents a 44% discount off of the expected retail price, with shipping anticipated for April or May 2024.
