Praesto Fliegeruhr: Horrible name, beautiful watch

And you said the recession was making it hard to find a good watch. Well fear not, friends. The Praesto Fliegeruhr (Whatever. Just call it the “flying hour” or something) will cost $360 for a pre-order and will be shipped around November when the custom watches are shipped to the manufacturer. Plus you get a t-shirt!

The Praesto runs a Miyota automatic movement with a small seconds at 5 o’clock and has SuperLuminova on the face and hands. It is water resistant to 20 ATM and is 44mm in diameter. I think the choice to add an auto movement alone makes me really like what they’re doing here.

The company has promised me some more hot photos but feel free to drool over this one for now.

Thank you for reading this WristWatchReview post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

WristWatchReview is one of the few remaining truly independent watch news outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent watch sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. We don't play the games the other sites play and we've paid for it when it comes to ad revenue.

We would love for you to support us on Patreon and every little bit helps. Thank you.

  1. Ahh yes the name. I would like to ask your readers to chime here with a suggestion for another name for this brand. As the first watch is not out yet. In my view there is still time to change the brand name if a good one can be found.

  2. The brand has a forum where you can all take part in.

The design and specs came from the members of the forum.

The rendering was selected as part of a design contest in which the members of the Praesto forum selected a winner.

After the design was selected the specs were laid out. This is why there are differences between the two stated specs.

The company also is being clear about where these are made.

So if your thinking this going to be another brand pretending to be German but really is Asian. This is in fact not the case with this brand.

If your wondering the company has their own in house manufacturing.

They have several years of experience on the OEM ODM side of the business and decided to finally have a brand of their own.

This is something the owner of the company has long wanted to do. Especially after designing and making watches for other brands.

Future models will most likely come from input from the members of the Praesto forum as well.

In fact there are several other designs on the forum which I personally feel could yet see the light of day.

If you have a design you would like to see become a reality. You can post it on the Praesto forum. If there is enough interest there it could be the next model.

This really is a brand that is going to be shaped by the consumer.
