Welcome back to our regular feature, the Watch Video Rewind. In this series, we bring to light videos we feel are interesting and worth sharing out with our readers. Today, we are going to look at a couple of videos associated with making and trimming watch straps.
Our first video comes courtesy of Hadley-Roma, a US manufacturer of watch straps with a production facility in Lago, Florida. The video walks through the various steps required to mass produce these leather goods that are so integral to our love of watches.
This next video highlights the new production facility in Michigan that Shinola built to make leather goods, as well as other products. From a video that Shinola produced, I see that they used to contract out the leather straps to the Hadley-Roma facility in Lago.
If you are more interested in hand-made straps, Gorilla Leather (not sure if they are still in existence) put together a vice video montage of the steps that go into crafting a leather strap. I think he missed an opportunity for self marketing by wearing a strap with a bracelet in the video though.
This last strap related video is for those of you that might need a little trimming on a leather NATO strap that you already have. The good folks at Crown & Buckle show you how to trim off the excess leather and still have a strap that looks professionally made.
Finally, for those of you who prefer a bracelet, Audemars Piguet has a nice video montage of the steps that go into building a bracelet for one of their high end Royal Oak watches.
