Reuters is suggesting that Patek Philippe – one of the most storied and prestigious independent brands in the world – could be for sale. Analyst Zuzanna Pusz wrote that the private company could be worth $8 to $10 billion if it is sold.

“It was interesting to hear in the corridors of the Geneva watch salon that a potential sale of the high-end watch brand Patek Philippe could be approaching soon,” Pusz wrote.

Patek declined to comment but the company – one of the last independent watch makers in the world – could benefit from the synergy associated with Swatch Group or LVMH partnering with the century-old brand.
