Webbem Traveler 1It has been a while since we pointed you toward a sale over at Touch of Modern (join here is you are not already a member), but if you are in the market for a watch or any other cool stuff, you should regularly check the site out.  Right now, there is a sale on vintage watches (nearly sold out), Orient automatics, and Lamborghini branded watches.  But the sale that intrigued me today was on WebBem Watches, quartz watches with paracord straps for your adventurous weekends.

Webbem Overlander 01There are two case styles available, the Traveler is a 42mm cushion case design while the Overlander is more of a traditional diver style case, at 43mm.  Both watches have three hand Japanese Miyota quartz movements, while the Overlander adds a day/date window.  Both watch styles feature sapphire crystals, stainless steel cases, SuperLuminova on the hands and chapter ring, screw bars at the lugs, screw down crowns for 100m of water reistance, and a unique shackle system for the strap closure.

Webbem Traveler 03The Traveler is offered with a green or black strap, while the Overlander is offered with with the two color straps and two color accent options for the dial (slate + black, slate + green, sand + black, and sand + green).  The Traveler is $103.99, a $35 discount, and the Overlander is $109.99, a $39 discount.  Each strap is made from 10-12 feet of 550 paracord, which contains 7 internal strands that one could break down into 80 or so feet of cord in case of an emergency.  and if you should need to use the paracord, when you get back from your adventure, the watch will fit on a 24mm strap.

Webbem Overlander 02Even the packaging is adventure rated, with (what looks to be) a small, watertight box, perfect for recycling to keep small valuables dry.  Overall, these watches are not ground breaking, but if you are in the market for a weekend beater or a field watch, the price point and features make the watch one worthy of consideration.  If you want to read more about the brand, or check out their list of uses for the paracord, check out their web site.  webbem.com
