The Peren Nera is a watch that wants to suck your blood. Created by a Transylvanian company, Peren, the Nera watch is inspired by the roiling waters of the Devil’s Lake in the Nera Gorges.

The watch is a fairly standard three-hander with a nice Neo-cool design and automatic ETA 2824-2 movement. The piece costs $448 for early birds on Kickstarter and they’re already past their $16,000 goal.

Want to know why this is inspired by a devil’s hole? I’ll allow Peren to explain:

The unique color of the Devil’s Lake from the Nera gorges is reflected into the dial while the cave shape of the Lake’s surroundings can be seen on the cases’s bezel and the dial’s rim. The three-tone execution of the case with the sandblasted base and the matte and brushed black PVD coated bezel, represent the fusion of the rugged cave-like environment with the Lake.

The watch ships in May 2018 and looks to be a nice addition to the pantheon of watches made deep in Dracula country.
