Breguet is updating their classic Marine line and changing the traditional lines of its chornos and three handers into something that smacks of… desperation?

The Marine line is Breguet’s answer to a sports watch and it, along with the Type XX series, are based on later Breguet designs that were built for the French Navy and Air Force. The Marine series is characterized by blued Breguet hands with lumen tips and a blue faces. What’s happening here is just about inexplicable.

The pieces, which come in gold and titanium, now feature a Type XX Chrono setup but the hands look like something out of a Breitling cast-offs section. The lugs, too, are problematic, trading traditional lugs for something like looks like it will be a pain to replace.

Fear not, though. You won’t be able to afford these as they start at about $28,000 because Breguet hates the poor. Anyway, these things look awful and I’m the dude who literally wrote the book on Breguet. Thank you, next.
