This is not the first time we’ve talked about H. Moser in the For Your Consideration series, and I’m fairly certain it will not be the last time either. They just produce such sublime watches, they’re hard not to talk about. The latest? A pair of watches known as the H. Moser Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue.

One thing to love about the H. Moser Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue is that it tells you precisely what it is. You’ve got a blue fumé dial set over the top of a perpetual calendar movement, and that’s all in the name. Get into the details, you’ve got such niceties as a 18k white gold case and a kudu leather strap. Apart from the dial itself, I’m particularly a fan of the very large date window, that almost looks to achieve magnification without a cyclops; pairs quite nicely to the center hand indicating the month.

Of course, H. Moser is know for more than just sublime, understated watches. They’ve also got a bold sense of humor, and that’s where we arrived at the funkier of the two models, with a limited edition “tutorial” version of the H. Moser Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue. This takes all the details of the mainline watch, and then puts a bunch more information onto the dial. While Moser may classify this watch as a “perpetual calendar for dummies” (that’s from their press release, I promise!), they’re also wanting to teach you about how the watch works.

With the blueprint just printed onto the dial, you get the details of the watch, with reminders of how the pieces work, and how to actually use and set the watch. No, it’s not for the true newbie, but it’s a nod to showcasing how much complexity is hidden under the “simple” dial. The H. Moser Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue goes for $60,000 USD (and is not limited) while the tutorial model runs you $65,000. That is, if you can find one, as only 20 of them are being made. h-moser.com
