Everyone is familiar with the Giugiaro Seiko chronograph worn by Sigourney Weaver in the role of Ellen Ripley. It’s a classic 1980s design and we love it. But what about the Ripley Alien Casio F-100 watch?

CASIO F-100

The Ripley Alien Casio F-100 Watch was an LCD digital watch. In Alien, there were two of them married together by a short nylon strap, cradled in a red tray to hold them both when wrapped around the wrist.

CASIO A-100

CASIO is bringing the model back, revived as the A-100. Of course, you’ll have to buy two if you want to re-create the prop used in the film.

And of course, if you wanted to do that, you’d need the red tray. It appears to be available from some plans on Shapeways. But to do it right, you have to start with the CASIO A-100.

The A-100 faithfully reproduces the F-100. The F-100 was released in 1978 and is notable for being the first Casio watch with a full resin exterior. It has a retro-futuristic style, with four buttons on the front of the face that resemble a control panel. It paved the way for the success of other resin Casio models like the G-Shock.

The AW100WE include water resistance, 1/10-second stopwatch (59’59?9 max), daily alarm, hourly time signal, auto-calendar, and LED light. The watch measures 40.7 x 32.7 x 9.2 millimeters and weighs approximately 53 grams. Battery life is rated for approximately 3 years.

The PAC-MAN version

The A100 series will launch with a silver edition (A100WE-1A), a gold edition (A100WEG-9A), a gray or gunmetal edition with an inverted LCD display (A100WEGG-1A), and the Pac-Man edition. Pricing is expected to be about $90 USD

The collection. Pure 1978 goodness.
