Here at WWR, we’ve been fans of what Tutima makes for quite some time now. There’s that German sensibility to the designs, and they’ve been offering up robust options across their lines in many guises. That robustness can sometimes lead to a case that is unwieldy on a smaller wrist. Tutima has heard those cries, and released four versions of their 40mm Tutima M2 Seven Seas S MariTimer.

To look at the Tutima M2 Seven Seas S MariTimer is to look at, well, any other Tutima M2 Seven Seas (such as this one), just done up more compactly. In our book, 40mm is a very nice sweet spot in terms of wearability and legibility on a dial (though my eyes are questioning that date window).

Aside from dial colors, you’ve got some choices to make. Do you want the color-matched bezel insert (which the black and green dials have), or a more subtle and sterile look with the steel insert as on the blue and red dials? Past that, you also need to figure out if you want their trick leather and rubber two piece strap, or the lovely H-link bracelet (we’re partial to the bracelet).

Either fit snugly into that lugless case design, which will also help the Tutima M2 Seven Seas S MariTimer not overburden a wrist. Suffice to say, we’re fans of this new release, and we’re already working on getting in a loaner for when some start showing up Stateside. Want to get one for yourself? They’re priced similarly to their larger predecessors: $2,350 USD on bracelet, $1,980 USD on the rubber/leather strap. tutima.com
