This video might be a little breathless but it’s a fascinating look at a fake Rolex. While at first glance you’re almost certain that the two watches he shows are the same, it becomes clearer once you start seeing the innards and the workmanship of the face. Given that the replica is over $1,000 you’re paying for a little extra care and feeding from the faker and, more important, you might not know you’re screwed until it’s too late.

As we’ve noted before on the podcast, if you love a watch, buy it. But watch out: the scammers are getting better and you don’t want to spend a fortune on what ends up being junk.
