We’re fans of what Baltic has been producing, and when they revisit their Aquascaphe line, that’s when good things happen. This time, they’ve dipped into a color palette we’d more readily associate with the fall (instead of spring), but product development timelines don’t care for the seasons. That’s why we get to meet the Baltic Aquascaphe Bronze Brown now.

On one hand, yes, this is very much the Baltic Aquascaphe that we’re familiar with. The first major change – as compared to prior models – is the usage of bronze (in this case, a CuAl8 alloy, blending copper and aluminum) that will develop it’s own patina (which you could force if you like), or can be cleaned up if you like as well.

The other major change is the color palette – here you’ve got a rich chocolate brown used on the dial that gradients out darker, with the bronze hue continuing on the handset, indices, and numerals. Those colors extend, as well, to the timing bezel, which itself has a sapphire insert that is also luminous (another change from the prior models). While I wouldn’t find myself picking a brown dial normally, this is a combo that just works very, very well. If you agree, you can pick one up yourself, starting today, for 625€. baltic-watches.com
