Historical Horology: A Breguet Display

Posted on 21 April 2013 by Patrick Kansa

This week’s entry in Historical Horology is one that will encourage you to step away from your desk chair (or wherever you’re reading this), and head on over to museum.

Over at the Frick Collection (in New York), they’ve currently got an exhibition entitled “Precision and Splendor: Clocks and Watches at the Frick Collection”.  While they’ve got pieces ranging from the 14th to the 19th centuries, quite a few Brequet models are prominently featured (as befits a major sponsor for the exhibit).

All in all, it looks like a very interesting cultural (and historical) outing you could make.  If you’d like to whet your appetite some more, I’d suggest checking out this article (and video), and then head on over if you’re in that area.

If you do go, let us know in the comments what you thought!
